bad upbringing
Endrick's goal against England will further whet the appetite of Madrid fans.
They have been waiting nearly two years to see what their latest prodigy can do on the hallowed turf of the Santiago Bernabéu. The Santiago Bernabéu is the stadium where many “Galacticos” (superstars) have flourished over the years.
But the appeal of playing for arguably the world's biggest soccer club is far from the appeal of Endrick, who grew up poor in Taguatinga, near the capital Brasilia.
The mother of the future star, born Endrik Felipe Moreira de Sousa in 2006, also became homeless in childhood, as a result of which he spent time in an orphanage.
But his talent was obvious, and at one point his father, who had left his family to pursue his own football career, uploaded footage of his son's goals to YouTube in a bid to attract interest from Brazilian clubs. Ta.
When he was 11 years old, Palmeiras called out to him.
The club was keen for him to sign with the team, so they provided his family with an apartment and gave Endrik's father a job as a caretaker.
He made 169 appearances and scored 165 goals for the Palmeiras youth team before making his debut at the age of 16 years, 2 months and 16 days.
Two months after his debut, Real Madrid announced that they had secured a contract for Endrik.
Comparison with Brazilian legend
Like many promising young players before him, Endrik, a powerful left-footed striker with a keen eye for goal, has been compared to Brazilian legends of the past.
After announcing his move to Madrid, European football expert Kevin Hatchard described Endrick as “a bit of a pocket rocket”.
“He's only 5ft 8in tall but he has a lot of power in his shot,” he told Sky Sports News at the time.
Following Endrick's goal at Wembley, former England midfielder Joe Cole compared the youngster to legendary Brazilian striker Romario, who scored over 700 goals in his career, including 55 for Brazil.
“I think he's a bit like Romario,” he told Channel 4. “The shape of your body, how you hide the ball, etc.”
Some have compared him to the great Pele, the greatest player to ever grace a soccer pitch and Brazil's national hero.
But Endrick tried to downplay those comparisons.
“I'm not asking for that,” he said last April.
“There are situations where you cross the line – 'Oh, he's the new Pele'.
“Hey, there's no one like Pele, he's the king of football.”

Comparisons aside, Endrick's national team coach had glowing words to say about the teenager's talent.
“If he maintains the attitude he has shown so far, he will become a very important name in Brazilian football and in world football,” coach Dorival Junior said after Saturday's friendly.
One thing is for sure, with the world at his feet, a contract with Real Madrid and a Wembley goal under his belt, everything is in place for Endrik to carve his own legend. It means that it is.
