BILLINGS — After piloting the Montana State Billings women's soccer program as interim head coach for the 2023 season, Abie Jacques will be joining the program as Yellowjackets athletic director Michael Bazemore announced Friday. announced that he has been appointed as the permanent head coach.
“I am excited to remove the interim tag and appoint Abiyeh to this position permanently,” Bazemore said. “He has done a very good job leading the program thus far, has great vision for the program and has collective support from the student-athletes and administration. Jack helped the Jackets finish the 2023 season with an overall record of 5-9-3 and a 4-8-2 record in conference play, leading MSUB to sixth place in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. finished. The Yellow Jackets improved their overall and conference record last season under Jack.
Jack was hired as interim head coach after serving as an assistant for the Yellow Jackets for two seasons. He has been involved in the Billings soccer community for several years and serves as his director of coaching at his soccer club Billings United.
Prior to MSUB, Jack served as the head coach and director of goalkeeping at Coppermine Soccer Club in Maryland during the 2020-2021 season.
In addition to his duties at Coppermine, Jack was assistant coach for the men's and women's teams at CCBC Essex from 2019 to 2021, leading the club to two women's national tournament appearances and a 2021 men's national finals appearance. lead. Jack also served as the head coach of FC Frederick in the National Premier Soccer League from 2016 to 2020.
During his playing days, Jack played at NCAA Division II Frostburg State University, where he had a career record of 23-6-10 as a goalie. Jack graduated from Frostburg State University in 2012 with a degree in Economics. He continued his playing career in the NPSL, playing at the same level from 2017 to 2019.
Jack began his coaching career at Brunswick High School in Maryland as assistant varsity coach and junior varsity head coach from 2014 to 2018, where he led the team to the Class A Maryland State Championship in 2014 . Jack holds the United States Soccer Federation National Championship. D license.
