Philadelphia – It's hard to believe it's that time of year again, but the University of Pennsylvania football team begins spring practice on Friday night, preparing for the 2024 season.
The Quakers finished fifth in the Ivy League standings after a highly competitive conference season that gave every team a chance to win the title heading into the final week of the year. Penn finished the season with an overall record of 6-4 and went 3-4 against the Ancient Eight with wins over Columbia, Cornell, and eventual runner-up Yale.
This spring, he returned to the fold as the Ivy League Rookie of the Year. Malachi Hosley, completed one of the most productive seasons in the show's history. Hosley, an FCS Freshman All-America selection by two publications, had 723 rushing yards (second on the Ivy) on 121 carries and seven touchdowns. He also earned first-team All-Ivy honors for his performance.
first teamer Jared Richardson (WR) and Hosley (RB), and second team jack fairman (LB), and honorable mention selection aidan sane (QB), bryce myers (TE), and paul jennings All (DL) are expected to get a lot of reps this spring as the Quakers begin action on Friday.
Head coach George A. Munger will continue to see new faces joining the team this spring. Ray Priore's coaching staff includes new offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Greg Chimera, defensive backs coach Marvin Cresidor, running backs coach Jordan Johnson and tight ends coach David Josephson.
Spring practice begins Friday and will be held every Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday (except Easter Sunday) until the Penn State spring game on April 20th. The Quaker Annual Recognition Banquet will be held on Friday, April 19th.
