This roster established itself as one of the best the state had to offer from beginning to end of the season.
It's time to announce the postseason honors for the 2023-24 men's ice hockey season. Throughout the season, NJ Advance Media staff was able to get an up-close look at the talent that New Jersey has to offer.
See below for this season's Jeonju Third Team.
Each team is chosen after hours of discussion and research by NJ Advance Media's hockey writers, taking into account the player's influence on the team's success, observations from games covered, and input from coaches across the state. It was put together after some work.
2023-24 Third Team, Jeonju
F: Matt Maglio, Bergen Catholic, Sr.
- statistics: 22 goals, 15 assists, 37 points
Mario, the driving force behind Bergen Catholic's offense this season, exploded in his senior year with career-highs in goals, assists and points. He surpassed his previous figures in each of these categories by at least five points and scored an additional nine goals. His seven game-winning goals are the second-most in the state and were among the Crusaders' biggest games of the season, including a 6-5 win over St. Joseph (Met) in the nonpublic state first round. I scored on some.
F: Luke Dickerson, Morris Knolls Hills, Sr.
- statistics: 38 goals, 20 assists, 58 points
A former baseball star, Dickerson put together a memorable senior year, scoring career highs on the ice with 38 goals and 58 points. His scoring record at the state tournament will also be long remembered. He scored 17 points in five games this season, and at one point had a goal streak in 11 games. He had a knack for playing dangerously at 5-on-5, scoring 16 even-strength goals, but found it difficult to contain opposing defenses all over the ice.
F: Jace Zangara, Randolph Jr.
- statistics: 36 goals, 34 assists, 70 points
In a Randolph offense that featured several 30-plus point scorers, Zangara stood out from the crowd with 70 points in his junior season. He led the team in all three major offensive categories: goals, assists, and points, and his 29 even-strength goals were up from 14 as a sophomore. A real breakout name for Zangara, he will definitely be a player to watch if he returns for his senior season in 2024-25.
D: Han Xin, Princeton Day, Sr.
- statistics: 8 goals, 9 assists, 17 points
Singh improved every year in his high school career, and in his senior year, he tied his career high in goals and set career highs in both assists and points. One of the top defensemen in the Gordon Conference and state, his play on the back end helped Princeton Day improve from 7-11-3 in 2022-23 to 10-8-1 this season. This was the main reason. He also led the Panthers to victory with four goals.
D: Hudson Rocheville, Seton Hall Prep, Sr.
- statistics: 7 goals and 9 assists. 16 points
The best defenseman on Seton Hall Prep's roster this season, Rocheville has been a steady presence in Brian Monteverde's first year as the Pirates' head coach with his strong play on the blue line. showed feelings. The Pirates won just three conference games last season, but went 6-2 in Gordon Conference play, and Rocheville improved from 13 to 16 points.
G: Christian Esposito, Manalapan Jr.
- statistics: 486 saves, .924 SV. %, 3 shutouts
Not much more can be said about Esposito's performance in his first year as Manalapan's starting goaltender. After not playing on the team as a freshman and sophomore, Esposito joined the team this season and made an immediate impact as a Manalapan, lifting the Braves from a team competing for a regular season conference title to a state title. Even if the Braves fell short, his performance in the state final, as well as his 35-save shutout of Westfield in the Public South Regional final, will remain a legend in Manalapan for a long time.
