Greater Manchester Police have announced that one person has been arrested following an incident where tragic chants were staged during the Manchester United v Liverpool game.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “GMP can confirm that an arrest has been made in connection with the tragic chants at this afternoon's (Sunday, March 17) match between Manchester United and Liverpool.” said.

The Football Association condemned the tragic chants and promised to work with police on the matter.
In a statement, the FA said: “We are aware of reports of tragic chants during today's FA Cup match between Manchester United and Liverpool and will work with Greater Manchester Police to assist.”
