Blaze Taylor, a former college football player at Arkansas State University and an analyst at Texas A&M, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder for killing his girlfriend and her 5-month-old unborn child.
A 28-year-old former college football star has been charged with fatally poisoning his girlfriend and her unborn child, Nashville authorities said.
In a press release shared by Nashville Metropolitan Police Department (MNPD)Blaise A. Taylor, 27, a former college football player at Arkansas State University and Texas A&M analyst, was arrested Thursday in Utah after being indicted by a Nashville grand jury. according to prison records, Taylor was arrested Thursday night and is being held without bail at the Cache County Jail in Logan, Utah. Records did not list an attorney for Taylor.
Nashville police said Taylor “is suspected of poisoning Benning without her knowledge” on the night of February 25, 2023, while he was in her apartment.
Authorities noted that after Taylor called 911, she was “taken to the hospital” by ambulance and said her girlfriend “appeared to be having an allergic reaction.”
However, police said Benning's condition “immediately became critical.”

Authorities said the fetus died two days later and that Benning died on March 6, saying she was “unable to be interviewed” by police before her death.
Police said Taylor moved to Utah after his death.
