Now, this news may make it more difficult, if not impossible, for Mike Vrabel to join Wisconsin as an analyst or special assistant.
The former NFL Coach of the Year has signed with the Cleveland Browns as a coaching and personnel consultant, ESPN's Field Yates and Adam Schefter report.

The move comes after the Tennessee Titans fired their longtime head coach after a disappointing 6-11 season in 2023.
Vrabel returned to Ohio State and shared the field with Wisconsin head coach Luke Fickell for several years at Ohio State.
Fickell said in a February press conference that Vrabel could be involved with Wisconsin football “in some capacity” this offseason. This news doesn't make it impossible, but it certainly makes it much less likely.

Wisconsin football is scheduled to begin spring practice later this month for the 2024 season.
