Last Saturday, the West Coast 2009 Wolfpack NPL team traveled to Crocker Amazon Soccer Field in San Francisco to take on SF United FC in an NPL game.
The Wolfpack won 4-0, but the first half was a back-and-forth battle and ended scoreless.
Five minutes into the second half, Ashley Browning ignited the team with the first goal of the game. Five minutes later, Vera Arellano took a free kick that hit Browning, who scored the second goal.
Eighteen minutes into the second half, Shanaya Chatterjee passed the ball to Madeline Hernandez, who dribbled up the field and took a shot to make it 3-0. In the end, Delilah Perez pushed the ball forward and Hernandez was involved in a 50-50 battle with the SF defender, but Hernandez prevailed and scored the fourth and final goal.
The next day, the Wolfpack played East Shore Alliance FC at Cayetano in Livermore and drew 1-1.
After an even first half, East Shore led 1-0. Makenna Roeder dribbled past multiple Alliance defenders and passed the ball to Hernandez, who took a shot and scored, tying the score at 1-1.
Just a minute later, goaltender Megan Silva made a backpedaling save that ultimately stopped the puck from being lost, diving for the ball and keeping the score tied.

Last Sunday, the West Coast 2015 men's team hosted the 1974 NFC 16B Black at Legacy Fields in Tracy. A hat trick from Ethan Hernandez led to a thrilling 8-4 victory.
Lucky Sanguinetti scored the first goal within the first minute of the game, and Theodore Rollin scored two minutes later to give West Coast an early 2-0 lead.
NFC responded shortly after with an own goal.
Still within the first six minutes, Atharv Dhruv made a long shot to put West Coast ahead 3-1. A few minutes later, NFC was able to make it 3-2. After 15 minutes, Mateo Carranza passed the ball to Hernandez, who put the ball into the back of the net, giving West Coast a two-goal advantage. Shortly after, Hernandez scored again, putting the hosts up 5-2 at the end of the first half.
The goal fest continued after the break, with Carranza scoring his first goal of the season in the 14th minute. NFC then found the back of the net to make it 6-3.
Twenty minutes before full time, Vince Sunday scored off a corner kick rebound to give West Coast a 7-3 lead. NFC went up 7-4 in the final minutes, but it wasn't enough for Hernandez to score his third goal and complete his hat trick.
West Coast goaltenders Mateo Horcuta and Laurin had great goal defense in each half.
