KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Three years after hosting the women's soccer tournament at the Round Rock Multipurpose Complex, the Big 12 announced Tuesday it will return the event to Kansas City for the 2024 and 2025 seasons. This move is not surprising. Texas has served as the nominal host of the Big 12 Tournament during the Round Rock era, as Texas departs for the SEC on July 1st.

Kansas City, the home of soccer, hosted the event from 2013 to 2019. San Antonio served as host from 1997 to 2012.
All games in the tournament will be played at CPKC Stadium, home of the Kansas City Current, a member of the National Women's Soccer League. Kansas City officials say CPKC Stadium is the world's first facility built specifically for a women's professional sports team.

“This is just the beginning of our vision for CPKC Stadium and the possibilities for the events we can host here in Kansas City,” said KC Current President Raven Jemison. “It's no surprise that one of the first major events outside of KC Current's regular season games to be held at CPKC Stadium is the Big 12 Women's Soccer Championship. We are empowering the next generation of soccer talent. We can't wait for them to experience our highly purpose-built facilities.”
