Tempe, Arizona. — The University of Washington beach volleyball team defeated two conference foes Friday on the first day of the Pac-12 South Tournament. The Huskies defeated Utah 5-0 and Arizona 4-1.
The Beach Dawgs defeated the Utah Utes 5-0 on Friday morning for their third sweep of the season. The Huskies extended their winning streak against Utah to double digits, winning all previous games against Utah with a double.
Zoe Henson and lauren wilcock He set the tone for the first dual, winning the match in two sets.
Following the example of the No. 2 pair, other Husky pairs defeated their Utes opponents in two sets. The Huskies shook up their lineup at No. 3 and No. 4. scarlet dahl and Kendall Mather Teaming up as a pair for the first time this season, they held off a surge at the end of the final set and won in third place.
In their first match together, Brooke Value and josie ulrich also won. Kirsten Burton and Natalie Martin They won their second straight with a takedown of Long Beach State last weekend.

After a slow start due to a long previous game, the Beach Dawgs made their presence known against the undefeated Arizona Wildcats. Henson and Wilcock started the afternoon's match with an opening win over the No. 2 Wildcats, who entered the weekend undefeated as a pair.The two achieved their sixth win of the season.
Ulrich and Ballew made a two-point comeback in the second set, giving them their second win. Piper Monk Heydrich Maggie Ravitch won the first set by 9 points and the second set by 3 points for the Huskies, battling heavy rain during the set to win the double championship. Mather and Dahl also earned wins, furthering the Huskies' victory to close out the day.
