Dr. Bowie — Bowie State University Women's Volleyball Director edric poitier was appointed to the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball National Committee for a four-year term.
“I would like to thank Lynn Dickey and the members of the NCAA Governance and Policy Committee for the opportunity to serve the DII volleyball community in this prestigious position,” Poitier said. “I look forward to representing CIAA and Bowie State Track and Field and am honored to be considered for the role.”
Poitier will begin her term as the Atlantic Region representative on September 1, and will serve on the committee that oversees selection, seeding, and bracketing for the annual NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship.
The Volleyball Committee is comprised of eight members representing each region of Division II. The purpose of the committee is to develop policies and procedures governing the administration and conduct of the Division II Women's Volleyball Championship. As a member of the committee, Mr. Colin is expected to attend the championships and annual general meeting each year.
Other duties include participating in conference calls, serving as the NCAA site representative for regional competitions, ranking teams, and providing input on the selection of host institutions for regional and national competitions.

Coach P will make the sport of women's volleyball a safe and exciting experience for our competitors. We wish him continued success.”
Since joining BSU in 2022, Poitier has already begun to reinvigorate the Bulldog program, which qualified for the conference tournament last season for the first time since 2019 and lost to Virginia State and Virginia Union. They bounced back and acquired two players. Member of the all-conference team.
