Boston – Boston University Women's Soccer Alumni Goes on to Success at the Professional Level After a Distinguished College Career Rachel Brosnaris (SAR'17) joins the program as assistant coach and head coach for the 2024 season. casey brown It was announced Friday morning.

Brosnaris has been serving as a volunteer assistant with the program since January. During that time, she also served as an assistant coach for the New England Football Club.
The Upton, Massachusetts, native returned to the United States after playing professional soccer in Sweden for four years. She played for Djurgårdens IF in Stockholm for two seasons and was co-captain for the 2021 campaign. Previously, she was Umeå IK's 2019 co-captain and she was MVP, joining the program in 2018.
“I'm excited to be back home at Nickerson Field with the arch of Boston in my heart!” Brosnaris said. “This program played a huge role in shaping me into the person I am today, and I'm honored to be a part of that journey for our student-athletes. Brosnaris, who was named the Boston University Athletics Woman of the Year in 2018, is a three-time Patriot League champion, two-time Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year and an All-Patriot League honoree. He won first team awards three times. He appeared in 81 games from 2013 to 2017, with Brosnaris playing in two united soccer coach All-American and All-Region Scholar First Team selection. The defender contributed 31 shutouts during his tenure and was placed on the MAC Herman Trophy watch list in his final season in 2017.
Following her stint as a Terrier, Brosnaris was selected as a member of the U.S. U23 Women's National Team in 2018. In September of the same year, she helped her team win the Women's U23 Nordic Tournament, defeating Sweden and Norway. .
Brosnaris earned a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from BU’s Sargent College in spring 2017.
