We're not trying to end the season early. That means I should have gone to bed 30 minutes before the season.
Over the next few weeks, Mizzou Hoops will be winding down and entering what we call the “Season of Optimism.” During this time, all analysis will be based on how optimistic you feel about things moving forward. Do you think the Mizzou Hoops coaching staff can turn things around with an elite recruiting class? Do you think the football team has enough talent to earn the program its first College Football Playoff berth? ?
So let me throw it to you… How optimistic are you about hoops and football?
The job group questions are almost too easy to answer, but it's okay to overthink them if you have the chance. The offensive line is loaded with future NFL players, and the linebackers are rising stars…but the wide receivers. How can you not imagine they take Mizzou all the way next year?
As for the basketball program…I don't know, guys. When you go months without winning, you can't help but feel shaken up. But I still think Dennis Gates can coach, and I still believe he can still recruit. They might be a .500 team at best next year, but you have to think they'll be a lot braver. And the year after that? That's when things get interesting.
