The search for Minot State University's newest volleyball head coach is coming to an end, and Beaver Athletics would like the public to meet with the two finalists vying for the position.
Candidates Brandon Crisp and Andrew Cole will each be interviewed in person next week on the Minot State campus, and the Beavers will hold a public discussion in the conference center on the third floor of the Minot State Student Center from 2 to 3 p.m. will be held. .
Coach Crisp will be on campus on Tuesday, March 12th and Coach Cole will be on campus on Thursday, March 14th.
The two finalists were selected by an eight-member search committee that included Minot State University faculty, student-athletes, and community members.
“We had a number of excellent applicants. Both Mr. Crisp and Mr. Cole have great knowledge and experience in volleyball.” said Gianna McKenney, assistant athletic director for external affairs at Minot State and co-chair of the search committee. “We are excited about the future of Minot State volleyball.”
Coach Crisp spent the past two seasons as the head coach of the Lamar Cardinals in Beaumont, Texas, an NCAA Division 1 team in the Southland Conference.
Prior to that, Crisp, a graduate of California Baptist University, was the head coach at Dallas College Eastfield Junior College, where he was named the NJCAA Division III Coach of the Year and the NJCAA Regional Coach of the Year. Selected as coach three times.
Coach Cole is currently the head coach at Westfield University in Irvine, Calif., where he led the Warriors to a share of fifth place in the NAIA Cal-Pac Conference, and this fall, the six-team Cal-Pac Conference. They qualified for the conference tournament.
Before that, Cole spent two seasons building a program from the ground up at Cerro Coso Community College in Ridgecrest, California.
A native of Glendale, Wisconsin, Cole played collegiate volleyball at Ohio State University.
