Beach volleyball officially began as a sport at DeLand High School this year, but it has always been a club.
There is a difference between beach volleyball and regular volleyball. For example, beach volleyball requires more conditioning and stamina to cope with the challenges of the hot sun and sandy beach. Besides factoring in post-season conditioning to keep his legs working, beach volleyball only requires two of him on the court, whereas regular volleyball requires six. The courts are not the same, and beach volleyball has a smaller court than regular volleyball.
Beach volleyball requires a lot of conditioning and dealing with indoor heat, while volleyball is more technical and more skilled. Inside Volleyball has a faster pace and reaction time to the game. Depending on the match environment, fans and coaches may become more nervous on the court. Captain Deanna Disinger (senior) has played indoors for 10 years and on the beach for two years and plans to play beach volleyball at the University of Lynchburg because of the relaxed atmosphere of beach volleyball.
As a player and a student, you need a lot of time, including the preseason and regular season. Playing beach volleyball at DeLand High School has a preseason, and he practices five days a week from 4 p.m. until sunset. During the season, they practice three days a week, and game days can last several hours. Even after the season ends, players still spend time working out to stay in shape.
Although some players play both sports, beach volleyball has a more relaxed atmosphere compared to indoor volleyball, which has a more competitive atmosphere. Beach volleyball only became a sport in high school, but it used to be club and took a few years to grow. However, since high schools have courts, it has become easier to recruit players.
