The Trinity men's hockey team has been officially named the 2024 NESCAC Champions. The Bantams defeated Tufts 4-0, their sixth shutout of the season. Several players have won awards such as first-team and second-team all-conference, defensive player of the year, and player of the year. In honor of this season's awards, each recipient presented Tripod with a quote that reflected their success.
Goalie #39, Devon Bobak '26: Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference
“First of all, I'm truly honored to be named Player of the Year. This is a huge milestone in my hockey career, and it's an honor to be a part of this team that helped accomplish this feat.” This year has been a very special year overall. We have been working every day since September for each other and for Trinity. It was a very special season, so I hope we can do well at the national tournament!”
Defenseman #24, Ned Blanchard '24: Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference
“It’s a great honor to receive this award, especially given how strong the league was this year. It’s been a great year so far. We have a culture that has taken us a long way and that we hope will continue to propel us forward in the coming weeks. We have a wealth of experience and, combined with an excellent first-year class, We have a great group of returning players. It's been a lot of fun so far and it's been an honor to come to the rink every day with this group. And we're making March the best month of hockey ever. After seeing all the hard work and ups and downs over the past few years, I'm very happy to have gotten to this point and I hope we can take advantage of this great opportunity.”
Forward #27 Richard Boysen '25: First Team All-Conference
*Boysen also scored a hat trick last Sunday.
“It was great to see so many players being recognized for their great season this year and I was so happy to be a part of it. We have a great team and we played well. There are many players who deserve to be recognized.”
Defenseman #20 John Campomenosi '24: First Team All-Conference
“I am extremely honored to receive this award. My personal success is not due to me, but to the people who surround me every day. The amount of support, passion, and love for each other and the game is truly to be appreciated. I'm so grateful to be a part of this team and program, and I never would have been in this position without my teammates and the Trinity community. I would like to express my gratitude to them.”
Forward #21 Kyle Tomasso '24: Second Team All-Conference
“Winning the Second Team Award reflects the overall effort and dedication of our team. It demonstrates the teamwork, perseverance and cohesiveness that have been the basis of this season's success. It’s not just for me, but for all the members of the team who contributed to our accomplishments.”
