Honolulu – The third-ranked University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team will host the 28th Annual Outrigger Invitational this week, featuring yet another stacked field. The tournament will be held from Thursday, March 7th through Sunday, March 10th at Simplify Arena in the Stan Sheriff Center and will feature host universities, top-ranked Grand Canyon, No. 5 UC Irvine, and No. 14 Lewis . This field last year featured the nation's top three teams, UH, UCLA and Penn State, and all three advanced to the semifinals of his NCAA Championship later that season.

Sunday (March 10) – Military Appreciation Night
- Past and present military personnel will be honored throughout the game.
- The men's volleyball team will wear special military-inspired uniforms as a tribute to the military.

- Cal State (14-1) is currently on a 13-game winning streak entering this week's Outrigger Invitational, the second-longest streak in the nation behind Grand Canyon (15).
- Hawaii has won 10 Outrigger titles, including four of the last six (2016, '17, '19 and '20), and has the best tournament record ever at 50-29.
- Lewis (10-8) is making his eighth appearance as an Outrigger and is 8-13 in the tournament. The Flyers finished runner-up in Outrigger in 2012 and 2016 with a 2-1 record in each year. Lewis split MIVA's two games last week, defeating Ohio State and Purdue Fort Wayne.
- UC Irvine (12-4) has competed in Outrigger twice before, including winning in 2015. The Anteaters also competed in his 2020 and were runners-up to the host university. UCI enters the tournament on a six-game winning streak.
- Grand Canyon (15-0) will be making its first Outrigger appearance. His GCU, the only undefeated team in Division I-II, competed in the 2020 Rainbow Warrior Classic in Honolulu, finishing with 1 win and 2 losses.
- Hawaii leads the all-time series against Lewis 19-2, including a current six-game winning streak and a 17-2 advantage in Honolulu. UH's last loss to the Flyers was at home against Outrigger in 2012.
- UC leads the series against Grand Canyon 8-0, including a 7-0 win in Honolulu.
- The University of Hawaii leads UC Irvine in the series with 48 wins and 22 losses, including a 14-game winning streak dating back to 2018. He also has an advantage at Honolulu University with 25 wins and 9 losses.
- UH has dominated its past five opponents and is currently on an 18-set winning streak.
- UH backup setter kevin calling He was a four-year starter at Lewis, played in 88 career games with the Flyers and was named an All-American three times.
- UCI setter Brett Sheward He was selected by UH from 2020-2023 and was named an AVCA All-American with the Warriors as a libero last season.
