Federal Way, Wash. – 4 Utes qualify for A final; Emilia Nilsson Galip Named the women's diver of the meet, the University of Utah Swimming and Diving team won the 2024 Pac-12 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash., with a score of 628.5. Finished in 1st place.

On the women's side, the final piece of the puzzle was on the women's platform as two Utes advanced to the A finals for the third time in three tournaments. Kathryn Grant and holly waxman Both accomplished that feat.
Grant's performance in qualifying earned her a score of 266.30, good enough for third place, while Waxman was just one place behind her with a score of 259.30. In the final, Grant placed 7th with a score of 240.60, and Waxman placed 4th, increasing his score to 276.05.
The Utes also earned one more diving honor before leaving Washington. Nilsson Galip won the Pac-12 Women's Diver of the Meet award after becoming the first Ute State to win the Pac-12 swimming and diving championships twice. The freshman from Sweden earned the spot by placing first in the 1m on Thursday and 3m on Friday.
“Overall it was a great game,” said Head Coach Diving. Richard Marshner“And tonight Kathryn and Holly finished really strong in the A final. They had a great game. Everyone on the girls team and Elias worked really hard this week. I'm really proud of the effort and work they put in. It's great that Emilia is a two-time champion and a diver in this competition.
“As we continue to build as a program, it’s very exciting to see where we were when we started in this conference and where we’re leaving this conference, one of the top, if not the top. I feel like I'm able to remain one of the programs.'' I'm excited about what's next in the zone and in the NCAA, and I'm looking forward to seeing how well we can finish the season.''

summer stanfield and Nora Hay Both men recorded top-eight finishes in the preliminaries, qualifying them for the 200 Back A finals, with Hay finishing sixth with a time of 1:55.42 and Stanfield hitting the wall with a time of 1:56.27. I touched it and finished 7th. In the final, Hay finished in 6th place with a time of 1:55.84, and Stanfield finished in 7th place with a time of 1:55.99.
The Utes also delivered another great performance. cameron daniel and Marlene Sandberg 1650 is free. Daniel finished the race with a time of 16:30.34, placing him in 6th place, while Sandberg clocked a time of 16:38.03, leaving his teammate one spot behind in 6th place.
Anneliese Hedges She swam to the 200m breast B final and recorded a time of 2 minutes 13.84 seconds. crystal liu After finishing the 200m Brest C final in 2:17.29, the Utes closed out the meet with the 400m free relay. reagan cathcart, Maddie WoznickHay and Stanfield recorded a time of 3:22.47.
“He got the job done with some great swims this morning for the final,” the coach said. Jonas Parson. “I gained more points than last year and today I moved up one place to finish in 6th place.I was selected with the expectation of finishing in 8th place, so I was able to prove that my predictions were wrong. I feel very good.”

Utah men's swimmers will have a chance to compete in the Pac-12 Men's Swimming Championships, which will be held March 6-9.
