Eight states and one European country provided record numbers of registrations for the 3rd Annual Northwoods Bora Trail Run and Beaver Bash.
169 people took part in the 10km run and 70 people took part in the 25km run, with 239 registrants including one from Sweden, double the number of registrations from last year. It was packed with runners who raced through rolling hills, flowing descents and shady sections of double track. the news release said.
This year's event now allows entries for up to 10 dogs and runners for each of the two race distances.
“Very few trail races in Arkansas allow you to join your four-legged friends, and with only 10 spots available per distance, this was an experimental year for mullet. Demand for canine companions quickly exceeded that quota, and enthusiasm remained high. Participants were also asked to explain why they could run, and two of the dogs got very creative. The event was named No. 6 among the top 15 trail runs in the state by Arkansas Outside readers for 2023, according to the release.

The event is built around fun and also encourages runners to show off their best mullets, fins and fake mullets.
