In a tragic incident, an 11-year-old boy in Pune, Maharashtra was killed when his genitals were hit by a ball while playing cricket with his friends.
The deceased boy was identified as Shambhu Kalidas Khandobe alias Shaurya. He was enjoying a game of cricket with his friends during summer vacation.
During the match, Shaurya was playing as a bowler when a strong ball from the batter hit him directly on his genitals. The impact was so great that Shaurya immediately fell to the ground, writhing in pain.
Shocked by his sudden collapse, Shaurya's friends immediately rushed to his aid but were unable to revive him. Bystanders then took the boy to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
An accidental death case was filed in this matter.
Last month, two children, including a 14-year-old boy, died of suspected sudden cardiac arrest in Rajkot, Gujarat.
The boy, Renish Nakani, was playing cricket near his home in Lakshmi Narayan Society in Vavdi district when he suddenly collapsed. He was taken to a civil hospital in an unconscious state, but doctors declared him dead on admission.
