Hanover, New Hampshire โ Dartmouth College women's hockey head coach Maura Crowell on Monday announced six members of the Class of 2028 who will join the Big Green ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Crowell and the rest of the girls hockey team staff plan to add two goalies, two defensemen and two forwards to the roster.
First up, the Dartmouth women's hockey program will welcome the first of two goalkeepers, Michaela Hesova. A native of the Czech Republic, Hesova attended Bishop Kearney High School in New York and has played for the Bishop Kearney Select and Czech Republic national team the past few years.
Last season, Hesova posted a 0.40 goals against average and .967 save percentage in five games for the Czech Select U18 team and a 1.24 GAA in four games for Bishop Kearney Select. Hesova hopes to major in Psychology at Dartmouth College and is particularly thriving in sports marketing, personal finance and biology classes.
forward Ella Inglis The Pickering, Ontario native scored 24 points this season for the Durham West Junior Lightning U22 team. The left-hander attends Dumbarton High School where he also competes in cross country, field hockey, soccer and track and field.
Inglis has won three championships including an U-18 league championship, a provincial championship (OWHA) and the Esso Cup at the Canadian National Girls U-18 Championship.
Haley Maguire Maguire is one of two defenders who joined the Big Green this season. A native of Whitby, Ontario, Maguire spent the past few years at Crestwood Preparatory College. Maguire played the past two years with the Central York Panthers and also played for the Durham West Lightning organization.
Like his future teammate Inglis, Maguire has won numerous championships, including the 2022 U18 Canada Esso Cup, the CISSA League Championship and represented Team Ontario at the U18 Canadian National Hockey Championship.
Bridget PringleThe forward, a native of Clayton, Ontario, spent last season at Stanstead where she recorded nine points in 40 games. Her best season came with OWHL U22 AA team the Nepean Wildcats in 2022-23 where she recorded 15 points (2-13-15) in 43 games.
In addition to ice hockey, Pringle also competed in soccer and cross country, winning MVP and Female Athlete of the Year awards.
Sydney PutraThe defenseman from Faribault, Minnesota, is no stranger to Dartmouth College and the women's hockey program: Her sister, Callie, was a member of the Big Green from 2019-2023 and served as captain her senior year.
During his five-year tenure at Shattuck St. Mary's, Putra recorded 103 points in 219 career games from the blue line and won consecutive USA Hockey National Championships. He also participated in the USA Hockey National Development Camp and USA Hockey National Selection Camp.
Last but not least, the Big Green welcomes goalkeeper Grace Jiang from Beijing, China. Playing in high school at Hill Murray School, Jiang was named the 2024 Female Athlete of the Year and Senior Goalkeeper of the Year. The runner-up goalkeeper at this year's IIHF Women's World Championship, Jiang posted a 2.57 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage during the tournament.
At Hill-Murray School, Zhang recorded a 1.39 GAA, .946 save percentage and six shutouts in 31 games played and was named to the Star Tribune All-State First Team and the MSHSL Girls Hockey State Tournament All-Tournament Team.
The Big Green and its six newcomers will begin conference play in late October with visits to RPI and Union. The remainder of the Big Green's schedule for the 2024-25 season will be announced in the coming weeks.
