The Wabash College volleyball team returned to action after a nine-day hiatus and faced off against a tough NAIA team from Goshen College. The Little Giants played three close games, but lost in straight sets to the visiting Maple Leafs.
Wabash (9-4) finished with a .218 batting average, while Goshen (5-9) had an offensive batting average of .359. The Maple Leafs led throughout the first set and won 25-21. Wabash took an early lead in the second set and played to a tie at five, but Goshen took a 20-19 lead midway through and won 25-21.
The Little Giants trailed by six tied scores in the third set, but never took the lead, and Goshen won the set and match 25-19.
jackson reaper She dominated Wabash's offense, posting 10 kills with a .769 attack percentage. Baubawi Tan added six kills and had a team-best six digs. Will Bakes Recorded 29 assists.
Wabash begins Sunday afternoon with a Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League game at home against Wittenberg University at 2 p.m. on Chadwick Court. The Little Giants will then face Mount Saint Joseph University at 6 p.m.
