rio grande valley – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros football team will hold walk-on tryouts for full-time UTRGV students on Friday, August 26 at 6 p.m. at the UTRGV football practice field currently under construction to the north. Those interested in joining the UTRGV football team must meet the following requirements:
- Full-time students at UTRGV take at least 12 hours of classes during the fall semester.
- NCAA ID number from the NCAA Eligibility Center.
- Must have played high school soccer within the past two years.
- I filled out the physical form and submitted it.
- I filled out and submitted the tryout form.
- I have completed and submitted the Participation Waiver Form.
- I have completed and submitted the trial questionnaire.
- Please submit your insurance card by sending a photo of the front and back of your insurance card.
All required forms and proof of insurance will be submitted to the UTRGV Director of Football Operations. John Simmons Please email John.Simmons1@utrgv.edu by 5pm on August 21st. If any of the required information is not received by the deadline, interested participants will not be able to try out. If you are submitting the form and information above, please enter “Walk-On Tryout” in the subject line.
Participants will receive confirmation of permission to participate from Simmons prior to tryout. Participants must wear their own training gear and spikes.
