Minnetonka, Minn. โ For the second day in a row, hundreds of people stopped what they were doing to offer a solemn salute.
From Minnetonka to Jordan, people stopped as the hearse carrying slain Burnsville police officers Paul Elmstrand and Matthew Ruge passed by. Hundreds of first responders saluted and raised flags on the overpass for the fallen heroes.
Elmstrand and Rouge, both 27, were killed. Sunday morning after responding to a domestic call in Burnsville. Paramedic Adam Finseth also died.

All three first responders are currently at the funeral home. As a mark of respect, they will not be alone until after the funeral.
Earlier Tuesday, Burnsville city officials announced that monetary donations to families of fallen soldiers can be sent to the Law Enforcement Labor Service Charitable Fund. The city asked donors to write “Hero of Burnsville” in the comment section of each donation.
