A social media influencer has filed a lawsuit against Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill over an incident at his South Florida home base last summer.
In a lawsuit filed Feb. 23 in Broward County Circuit Court by Sophie Hall's attorney, the two were attending football practice at her Southwest Ranches mansion when Sophie Hall allegedly She claims Hill “forcefully and intentionally” pushed her.
According to the complaint, Hill was “humiliated” when Hall shoved him backwards “during a friendly football lesson,” which led to him charging at her “violently and with great force.”
“The compressive force was so great that she broke her right leg, requiring surgery to implant a metal fitting,” the suit states.
Hall is seeking up to $75,000 in damages. It is unclear whether she reported the incident to authorities. Her attorney is suing Hill for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence.
“We were aware of that,” Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said at the NFL Combine on Wednesday. “We've been in contact with NFL security, so we can't comment on that until we have all the information and figure out what happened. Tyreke is a good addition for us. But in all respects, off the field, we need to get all the information before we can really comment.”
The Dolphins acquired Hill in a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs in March 2022.
According to the complaint, Hall, a model, actress and influencer with more than 2 million followers on multiple social media platforms, sent money for her 10-year-old son to attend Hill's summer football camp in Boca. After purchasing the ticket, I met Hill in May 2023. Raton, Florida.
The day after registration, the Dolphins receiver messaged Hall on Instagram saying he wanted to “meet and get to know each other,” court documents state.
The two continued to exchange messages, including one in which Hill said he was “known to be a good stepfather,” according to the documents.
Hill then gave Hall his cell phone number and invited her to his home. The All-Pro trustee purchased airline tickets and travel arrangements to stay with Hall for several days, according to the complaint.
According to the complaint, Hall arrived at Hill's home on June 28. That afternoon, she stood and watched Hill practice with a trainer in her backyard, and Hill invited her to join him in an offensive line practice.
Hall, who describes herself as 6 feet 1 inch tall on Instagram, caused Hill to be pushed backwards during the first training session, drawing laughter from onlookers including her mother, sister, friends and trainers. the lawsuit alleges.
“Mr. Hill's demeanor changed and he became enraged, apparently embarrassed by the loss of stability that resulted from his contact with the woman during the 'football game,'” the complaint states.
Ms Hall was in excruciating pain and unable to get up and walk around as the leech charged towards her. Hill downplayed Hall's injuries but allowed her to stay at his home until he could secure travel arrangements for her return, according to the complaint.
She was diagnosed with a fracture in her right leg in July and receives weekly treatment for persistent pain and weakness in her leg, according to the complaint. The lawsuit was first reported by the Daily Mail.
In 2019, the Chiefs suspended Hill after he was accused of physically abusing his son. In 2015, he pleaded guilty to domestic assault and assault by strangulation after strangling his then-pregnant fiancée. As a result, he received a three-year suspended sentence. Last August, Hill was under investigation by Miami-Dade police after a man claimed the receiver hit him after an argument. No charges were filed.
