Tempe – Sun Devil hockey defeated the Sharks 4-2 on Friday night in their penultimate home game of the season. Jackson Niedermayer Lighted the lamp twice with friends who scored goals at Mallet Arena. charlie shawn and ryan o'reilly.
With tonight's win, the No. 20 Arizona State ice hockey team (22-7-6) tied the program record for most wins in a single season, set in the 2019-20 season. ASU extended its undefeated record against Long Island University (16-19-2) to 5-0-0 for the third consecutive year.
Lucas Schillinger Recorded his 32nd assist in the second period, breaking the record for a former Sun Devil. Robert Mastrosimone's Single-season assist record (31). Candidate Hobey Baker has scored four points in the last two games and had three points in the Sun Devils' 4-3 win over Alaska last Saturday night.

Niedermayer's goal was his second of the game. This is also the second time this season that he has lit the lamp in back-to-back games. The last time he did it was at the Adirondack Invitational against Clarkson and Cornell.

“I felt like it took a little while for the energy to build up in the building. I felt like both teams were playing neutral ice hockey and it took a little while for the puck to get into each zone. Once that happened and the play started going, things got better.”
