HILL AIR FORCE BASE – Cross country running season is about to begin at Hill Air Force Base. Intended for runners of all levels looking to achieve, maintain, or need a stepping stone to revitalize their physical fitness program.
The event begins March 14 at 1 p.m. with a team captains' meeting at the Warrior Fitness Center. All squadron team captains are required to attend to receive information about the season format, awards, and new improvements to make the season better.
“Preseason registration will take place that day, followed by the Get the Last Out Run on the Duck Pond Course starting at 4:30 p.m.,” said Hill AFB Running Club Volunteer Director Randy Thomas. “Runs begin by the green outdoor fitness equipment door in the northeast corner of the blue track.”
The Spring Fun Run season is open to participants of all levels, including runners, walkers, and strollers, and begins March 28 at 4:30 p.m. on the Duck Pond Course.
There is a different 3-mile course each week, with walkers typically completing 1.5 to 2 miles.
“People can participate on their squadron's team or as individuals to win awards,” Thomas said. “The season runs for eight weeks on Thursday and concludes on May 16th with a challenging off-road course.”
Each run begins at 4:30 p.m.
