The Ole Miss Rebels have a lot of talented position groups heading into the 2024 season, but one area that should make a big impact is the tight end room.
On3's Jesse Simonton recently published his top 10 tight end units in college football, and the Rebels came in at No. 8 on the list. You can check out the entire pecking order below.
1. Georgia Bulldogs
2. Michigan Wolverines
3. North Carolina Tar Heels
4. Syracuse Orange
5. Utah Utes
6. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
7. Texas Tech Red Raiders
8. Ole Miss Rebels
9. Oregon Ducks
10. Iowa Hawkeyes
The Rebels are one of two SEC programs to make this list, the other being the Georgia Bulldogs in the top spot. Kirby Smart's playoff contenders lost the talent of Brock Bowers in this offseason's NFL Draft, but added his juniors Oscar Delp and Stanford to soften the blow enough to maintain the No. 1 ranking. There's Ben Yurosek.
Ole Miss expects big things from former transfer Caden Prieskorn in his second year at Oxford, but that will come on the heels of an injury-plagued campaign in 2023. Injuries aside, Prieskorn made an impact at Ole Miss on the season, winning 11 games and recording 30 receptions for 449 yards and four scores. That included 10 catches for 136 yards and two scores in the Peach Bowl against Penn State.
Head coach Lane Kiffin and the team added Daquan Wright, who transferred to Virginia Tech, this offseason, and freshman Dillon Hipp is also expected to make an impact during his career with the Rebels.
Ole Miss opens the 2024 season on August 31st at home against the FCS Furman Paladins.
