Storrs, Connecticut – The University of Connecticut women's ice hockey team is preparing for the postseason, hosting the Hockey East playoffs at the Toscano Family Ice Forum. The Huskies will face Holy Cross in the quarterfinals on Saturday, March 2nd.
Entering this matchup, the Huskies finished the regular season ranked 11th in the USCHO national poll with a 22-7-5 overall record and a 19-4-4 conference record. UConn ended up being the top seed and winning as the regular season champion for the first time in program history. To close out the season, the University defeated Boston University on Friday, February 23rd and Saturday, February 24th. It was the senior forward's play that led the way throughout the season. Heading into this matchup, the Crusaders finished the regular season with an 8-23-3 record and a 4-20-3 record in Hockey East play. The Crusaders finished 10th in the standings. In their previous matchup, Holy Cross defeated Boston College by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday, February 28th, winning a postseason game for the first time in program history.
Back in the regular season, the Huskies won three straight games. UW currently has a 16-3 record against the Crusaders.
