On Monday, former Seminole defensive back Omarion Cooper announced he would be transferring after one season in Colorado. It was around this time exactly a year ago that he decided to leave Tallahassee after spring practice and join Deion Sanders in Boulder.

Cooper started eight of nine games for the Buffaloes in 2023, but missed the final three games of the season. The Florida State native spent the first two years of his college career at Florida State University after signing with the program as a four-star prospect in the 2021 class. During his time with the Seminoles, he was a consistent member of the defensive rotation, appearing in 20 games and starting seven.
In his first start against Miami, Cooper had a critical interception and four pass deflections. He was named the Devaughn Darling Rookie Defensive Player of the Year.
Last spring, Florida State considered moving Cooper to safety. In the end that didn't work out and they decided to head to Colorado instead. He had 30 tackles, one forced fumble, four pass deflections and three interceptions for the Seminoles.
The Seminoles added multiple defensive backs from the transfer portal and high school ranks over the winter.
