FAU opens game at Michigan State University
The Owls will look to erase the bad taste of their season-ending four-game losing streak by starting the year at Lansing, 0-3 overall. Michigan State beat him 44-0 in their last matchup, but that was in 2011. A lot has changed in both programs since then. Both teams finish the 2023 season with 4-8 records, so starting off on the right foot will be a priority for the Owls as they look for their first win in Spartan territory.
Shura bowl is back
Florida International will reopen after a one-year hiatus. The Owls have a chance to win their sixth straight game against the Panthers at home in Week 3 and improve on their overall record of 16-4 in the Shula Bowl.
South Florida travel to Boca Raton
If this year's rivalry on the hardwood is a sign of next year's grass, there's a reward in store in Week 8. Last year, the Owls defeated the Bulls 56-14, so it will be interesting to see how both teams play. A matchup (both teams made extensive roster changes in the offseason).
Welcome to AAC, Army
FAU will be West Point's first AAC matchup after the Black Knights join the conference for the 2024 season. The Owls will make their debuts for both programs in Week 2 against former Independents.
Intra-conference matchups are lighter
Of this year's seven AAC contests, only two schools (USF and UTSA) finished with better conference records (3-5) than FAU. After Week 8's game against USF, the Owls will close out the regular season with matches against East Carolina, Temple, Charlotte and Tulsa, which they won six times in the AAC last year.
