SCOTLAND NECK, N.C. (WNCN) – Police released two juvenile gunmen Monday afternoon after the armed duo ran through a North Carolina town in broad daylight, “arming and terrorizing the public.” He announced that he was forced to do so.
The incident was first reported just before 5 p.m. Monday as people with guns were seen near Shiloh Baptist Church on Roanoke Road in the Halifax County town of Scotland Neck, according to a news release from Scotland Neck police. Ta.
Police then observed “suspicious activity” near East 12th Street and Roanoke Avenue.
One of the boys was seen running with an AR-style rifle, and the other boy was seen running with a handgun, police said.
As police approached, the pair fled from the officers and a foot pursuit began.
According to police, a gun was found in one of the boys' possession after the two were arrested, and the other gun was found during a foot pursuit. Police released photos of the two guns they seized.

Officers investigated a juvenile complaint against the pair, both 17, on charges of going armed and terrorizing the public, possession of a firearm by a minor, carrying a concealed firearm, tampering with evidence, and fleeing arrest. He said he would do it.
“This is violent and poses a danger to the community, but North Carolina's juvenile justice system does not allow them to be detained and they had to be released to their guardians,” Scotland Neck Police said. Chief Tommy Parker said in a statement.
The boys were from Princeville in Edgecombe County and Rich Square in Northampton County.
Mr Parker expressed concerns about adults and their role in such incidents.
“We know that some parents and adults in the community are aware of what is happening to the teens and that they are walking around town with guns and terrorizing the community. It's very unfortunate,” Parker said in a statement.
The Halifax County Sheriff's Office sent several deputies to assist the Scotland Neck Police Department.
