Former USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams has already made his presence felt in the city of Chicago. He was selected No. 1 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears and has since accepted to be a part of the organization.
Chicago believes Williams will be a savior at the quarterback position, which has been lacking for some time. The organization wasted no time in surrounding him with talent, including taking wide receiver Roman Odunze with the ninth overall pick from the University of Washington.
Since then, Odunze and Williams have developed chemistry, with Odunze speaking of the bond the two players already have.
“I definitely took some time to think about (playing with Williams) because I knew there was a real chance that I would be drafted and my visit with Williams went very well,” Odunze said. He told reporters during a video conference after the Bears made his selection. he. “So, that was definitely a possibility that popped into my head and I was very excited to have it as an opportunity. Watching him when I was playing against him in college He's such a talented, generational player, so it's special to be able to catch his ball and compete right next to him.”
If Odunze and Williams can work well together, the Bears will be in a great position. Chicago also has veteran wide receivers Keenan Allen and DJ Moore on its roster, making it one of the better wide receiver groups in the NFL.
“Keenan is smooth,” Odunze said. “We saw how explosive DJ was. And we saw that Caleb could throw the ball anywhere. I'm very excited to officially work with that group and it's something special.” I think you can.”
Chicago is doing everything they can to help Williams, and he still has a chance to be special. All he has to do is show up on game day and do what he does best: score a touchdown.
