The Washington Commanders had a great three days at the 2024 NFL Draft and took a huge leap towards championship contention. One of the things that became clear through the selection of commanders during the event was that a new era was dawning on the nation's capital.
When a new franchise quarterback prospect comes into town, you can't help but feel a new energy. Especially when the potential new franchise quarterback is Heisman Trophy-winning Jaden Daniels from LSU, who would bring a fun spark to the offense. His dual-threat style of play adds a unique wrinkle to Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury's offense.
The team used the second round to add two new defenders, selecting defensive lineman Johnny Newton with the 36th pick and cornerback Mike Sainristil with the 50th pick. In the first two rounds alone, the commanders got better at two levels of the field. They played defense and secured the engine for attack.
Pro Football Focus evaluated the draft picks of 32 teams and gave an “A” to nine players added by managers to their rosters.
