NFL Draft 1st Round
Caleb Williams QB, Bears — Williams has upside in Josh Allen and risk (in terms of numbers) in Sam Howell. Along with DJ Moore and Keenan Allen, Williams is well-positioned for immediate success. Williams can be too aggressive at times, even attempting big throws against the rush, which could limit his rush rise.
It remains to be seen whether the Bears' design will encourage Williams to run on plays and whether he will adjust his play to run rather than make dangerous throws. Williams could be in the 200-300 rushing yard range or even push for 500 yards with multiple scores on the ground (like Allen). Nevertheless, the risks mean he shouldn't be overestimated, especially in Year 1 (especially after the success of CJ Stroud). Williams counts as a fantasy QB1, assuming he throws for over 4,000 yards and scores 25 or more touchdowns, but he still runs the rookie risk of becoming a mid-QB2.
