Running back Taj Brooks, a Doak Walker Award semifinalist last season, received the Pete Corson Memorial Team MVP Award during Tuesday's Texas Tech football team meeting.
A total of nine Red Raiders players were recognized at the awards ceremony.
Safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson won the Donnie Anderson Sportsmanship Award, while the JT King Award for Most Improved Player went to offensive wide receiver Xavier White and defensive linebacker Ben Roberts. It was done.
The JT King Award has historically been given to the player who improved the most during winter conditioning and spring practice. Tech coach Joey McGuire expanded that range with the season in mind.
Offensive lineman Caleb Rogers was the recipient of the Dare to Be Great Award, traditionally given for contributions to the Red Raiders' strength and conditioning program. Receiving the Clint Ramsey Academic Effort Award were quarterback Jake Strong and kicker Reese Burkhardt.

Quarterback Behren Morton received the EJ Holub Double Tough Award and linebacker Bryce Ramirez received the Del Morgan Memorial Courage Award.
Morton played most of last season with a Grade 3 AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder. Ramirez suffered a compound lower leg fracture in September 2022, but recovered enough to play the entire 2023 season.
The award was originally scheduled to be announced during Saturday's spring game. Those plans were scrapped when Tech moved its spring game from a public play in Midland to a closed scrimmage at the team's indoor facility due to weather.
The award, named after Morgan, Cawthon, and Anderson, was established in 1961, 1962, and 1969. The award named after King began in 1978, the Dare to Be Great Award in 1981, and the EJ Holub Double Tough Award in 1983. The Clint Ramsey Academic Effort Award was added in 1987.
The award ceremony went on hiatus after former coach Mike Leach was fired in 2009. Tech coach Joey McGuire reinstated the traditional honor last year.
